Mortefi is a Fusion character with Pistols as his weapon of choice in Wuthering Waves. He can operate as a main DPS and an off-field Sub DPS, which is rare in this game.
To use him properly, you have to know how to build Mortefi in Wuthering Waves since his build varies between his main DPS role and the Sub-DPS one. Best Mortefi Echoes In Wuthering Waves
As an off-field Sub-DPS in Wuthering Waves, it’s better to build Mortefi with 5pc of Moonlit Clouds to ensure his Resonance Liberation casting consistency and to add an ATK% buff to the main DPS in the party. To build Mortefi with more DMG, go for 2pc of Molten Rift or 2pc of Lingering Tunes, but keep 2pc of Moonlit Clouds. This will slightly increase Mortefi DMG for the price of losing the ATK% buff. Additionally, if players are having a hard time keeping Mortefi's Ultimate, then they can swap one of the Cost 3 Echo with Energy Regen stat.
Operating as a Sub-DPS who heavily depends on his Ultimate, Impermanence Heron is the perfect main Echo for Mortefi since it grants him 10 Energy and 12% DMG to the next character. This makes him both a great off-field unit and a buffer at the same time. However, if players prefer seeing bigger numbers, then they can use Inferno Rider instead.
Best Mortefi Weapons In Wuthering Waves
The best weapon for Mortefi in Wuthering Waves is Static Mist as it gives him a decent amount of Crit Rate and Energy Regen. Additionally, Static Mist also buffs the ATK% of the next character after Mortefi, adding more depth to Mortefi’s Sub-DPS build.
On the other hand, Cadenza is a perfect Pistol for Mortefi since it gives him Energy Regen and Concerto Energy, which notably decreases his field time. Undying Flame is also a viable option as it grants Mortefi extra Resonance Skill DMG, and he’s going to need that when quickly casting all his Skills to trigger his Outro Skill.
If you didn’t have any of his 5-star or 4-star choices, Pistols of Voyager is a decent 3-star weapon for Mortefi as it grants him Resonance Energy, allowing him to use more Resonance Liberation.
How To Play Mortefi In Wuthering Waves
Mortefi’s Forte Gauge is directly linked to his Resonance Skill. You can recover it by using Basic ATK, Skill, or Intro Skill. Once it’s full, he gets a new Resonance Skill that scales with his Forte Circuit. However, that’s not the star of his kit. His best Talent is his Resonance Liberation, which allows him to be an amazing off-field Sub-DPS unit in Wuthering Waves.

When switching Mortefi in, cast his Skill and use a couple of Basic ATK to fill his Gauge, which will quickly regenerate his Concerto Energy. Cast his Ultimate once his Concerto meter is full to fill it and switch to the main DPS to trigger his Outro Skill. That way, Mortefi will provide much-needed buffs and extra DPS for the team.
