So capital one sent me my new card as my current is set to expire at the end of this month. I noticed this new card has neither a chip or tap option.. like what the heck capital one. I'll need this replaced in like 2 months when the dam strip quits working. No advice needed . I was just surprised. Share any wth moments you've had lately.

Capital one says they have zero records of me being issued a new card.My old card is still active. no suspicious activity on the card. They are opening an investigation... I'm sending them what information I have...

Mine always needed replaced before expiration…. Typically start giving issues at Walmart first (seriously- works everywhere else). Then gives issues other places. Once they have to manually enter, I give in & order replacement Mine isn’t tap though, has chip this time

That’s more than I remember ever being asked for to activate a card, but it also seems like a lot of work for a scammer to go to just to get that—manufacturing a whole fake card? Obtaining a close-but-no-cigar phone number? The whole thing is very odd.
I'd put a fraud alert on your credit reports. Major credit card issuers have all moved to chip cards and more are moving to chip cards with tap. Companies usually issue replacement cards for expiring cards 30 days before it expires so that it arrives before it expires. If they have to reissue usually a communication is sent out advising that reissue is coming for x y z issue. But customer service would see it. Overall op sounds line a scam to aquire information from you for nefarious purpose.

Yes I'm so confused. I could see them sending me a letter etc but a card? I have zero idea if this card has any actual.useOpens a new window.. the more I look though the more fake it seems. Still seams like quite a lot to go through. I can't find anything online where another had anything similar. Just like real cards opened in their names when they didn't apply.

This reminds me of when I received some random card in the mail. It was a congratulations here's your new card call to activate. I had not applied for a card and it is not on my credit report. It wasn't an offer, it was a credit card from some random place place like star credit, credit America, credit America- I don't even know. I just chopped it up and put it away. But it never appeared on my credit history so I'm sure it was a scam.
