This year’s #PrideMonth theme: "Reflect. Empower. Unite." resonates with Wake County Public Library System's library assistant Mishka Rogers. 📚 🏳️🌈Mishka stresses the importance of solidarity and mutual aid, advocating for those with privilege to amplify the voices of marginalized communities rather than attempting to "fix" things themselves. “Even if easier course of action is to let something slide or be comfortable with the status quo, standing up and speaking up and if need be, fighting, however that is defined, for what we’re all entitled as human beings is the only way it’s going to happen," Mishka said. Hear more of what Mishka has to share! ⤵️

Congratulations Fire Academy 15! 🎉Earlier this week, 17 graduates celebrated the end of their 38-week academy at a ceremony featuring remarks by North Carolina Department of Public Safety Secretary Eddie M. Buffaloe. This cohort passed their EMT exams at Wake Technical Community College with the highest average scores in the history of our Fire Academy, and are now serving their communities with 6 local fire departments. We are so grateful to these talented and dedicated #firefighters who are now ready to respond to calls throughout #WakeCounty. Thank you! 🚒❤️
