Private funeral services were held Thursday under the directon of Huff-Linde Funeral Home, Spanish Fork, Utah. Utah unemployment increased slightly to 5.6 percent in July, but it still "remains within the bounds of economic health," the Utah Department of Employment Security reported Thursday. July's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate climbed four-tenths of a percent over June's 5.2 percent rate, the department reported in its monthly labor market report. "Sluggish job growth and layoffs finally left their mark on the state's level of joblessness," said Labor Market Economist Lecia Parks. "However, although Utah's unemployment rate has hovered just above the 5 percent mark for the past four months, this rise isn't particularly alarming." She said Utah remains in what economists call "full employment," with a jobless rate about 1.5 percent lower than the national average.

Further, the current unemployment rate measures slightly lower than last year's rate, she said. On a seasonally adjusted basis 41,700 people were out of work in July 1986, compared to 41,800 in July of 1985. "Utah's unemployment increased this month, but it remains within the bounds of economic health," she said. "However, several areas, particularly the rural counties, and industries in the state still struggle with depressed conditions. Moreover, job growth has slowed significantly during the first half of 1986.

If Utah is to maintain its low unemployment rate, job growth must pick up over the current level." Ms. Parks said the goods-producing sector of the economy took the brunt of the employment losses. Oil and gas extraction and primary metals manufacturing have declined about 20 percent since last July, she said. "Even transportation equipment manufacturing, formerly the one bright spot in the durable goods sector, suffered from a minor job loss," she said. The service sector, however, continued to show the highest levels of employment growth, with 7,100 new jobs.

Finance, insurance and real estate accounted for 2,300 new jobs since July of 1985, Ms. Parks said. Retail trade jobs are up by 5,000 a year-to-year growth rate of 4.5 percent, she added. Utahn Pleads Guilty In Child-Rape Case A Salt Lake County man pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of rape of a child stemming from incidents involving two girls between October 1985 and Feb. 8.

Dave Lorrah, 32, no address available, entered his plea before 3rd District Judge Richard Moffat who set sentencing for Oct. 31. Judge Moffat ordered Lorrah to undergo a 90-day psychological evaluation at the Utah State Prison before he is sentenced, said Karen Knight-Egan, Salt Lake County deputy attorney. Lorrah faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 5, 10 or 15 years to life in prison for pleading guilty to the charge. Two other counts of rape of a child and eight counts of sodomy upon a child were dismissed, Ms.

Knight-Egan said. The charges stemmed from several incidents involving two girls ages 9 and 7. want ads 237-2000 Utah advertisers outside the local area Dial TOLL FREE 1-800-662-9186 I Legal Notices ADVERTIsem*nT FOR BIDS Salt Lake County Sewerage Improvement Dist.
