Springwatch: Megan McCubbin reports live from Loch Lomond

BBC Springwatch viewers rushed to complain just minutes into the programme.

The popular show returned to BBC Two on Monday (June 3) as presenters Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan continued following British wildlife, but this time at RSPB Arne.

Megan McCubbin hosted live from Loch Lomond, the largest loch by surface area, and the third deepest. The conservationist was joined by an expert named Phoebe, who had a camera to spot inhabitants under the water.

The zoologist also revealed the other reason the team had travelled to Loch Lomond, telling viewers: "It's because of a true true rarity, endemic to only two loch's in all of Scotland, Loch Lomond being one of them, and that is the powan.

However, viewers seemed distracted by Megan's pronunciation of the word "Loch", as they rushed to social media to complain. One wrote: "I love Springwatch but can Megan please pronounce Loch as it should be and not as she is doing, Lock!"

Another added: "Can someone please teach Megan how to say Loch properly, it’s not a lock!" A third echoed: "Please can someone teach Megan how to pronounce Loch properly."

A fourth begged: "Can someone please teach her how to say 'Loch'..." It comes after Springwatch viewers were left gobsmacked after learning the price of Chris' outfit during a recent episode.

The 63-year-old joined co-star Hannah Stitfall at a pub following a day packed with wildlife adventures. He sported a striking mustard yellow raincoat paired with a black bucket hat and casual trousers for the occasion.

It was his choice of headwear that caught the audience's attention - a Prada bucket hat with a hefty £520 price tag. Fans swarmed social media as they shared their thoughts on the broadcaster's designer item.

One wrote: "Go on with your bad self Chris Packham, wearing a Prada bucket hat on Springwatch." A second penned: "Chris Packham in his Prada bucket hat is a pure vibe on tonight's Springwatch." (sic)
