SUN CITY — Eunice Ward, 94, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Born July 12, 1912, in Texas, she was raised in Illinois, movedto California in 1932, and has resided in Sun City since 1964. Shewas a member of the United Methodist Church in Sun City and activein the church’s women’s sewing group.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra andFred Mueller of Cardiff; son and daughter-in-law, Warren andMargaret Ward of Sun City; grandchildren Shannon and Devon O’Sullivan, Natalie Cornell, Warren R. and Curtis Ward, Tina Welcher;and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled at noon Saturday, March 24, with funeralservices at 1 p.m. at Evans Brown Sun City chapel. A reception willfollow at the United Methodist Church in Sun City.

MURRIETA — T.J. Lofton, 52, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, ather residence.

Born June 9, 1954, in Kansas, she lived in Murrieta.

Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Woods.She is survived by her husband, Thomas Lofton of Murrieta; mother,Teresa Dowell of Murrieta; father, Ken Woods of Dallas; sons,Jeremy Lofton of Murrieta, Nick Lofton of Santa Ana; brother,Darrin Woods of Dallas; and sister, Doreen Blumberg of Phoenix.

Merrill Williams, 85

ESCONDIDO — Merrill “Woody” Williams, 85, died of heart failureTuesday, March 20, 2007.

Born Aug. 13, 1921, in North Carolina, he lived in Escondido for33 years. He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps; amember of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society and member ofEmmanuel Faith Community Church. He flew Corsairs in World War IIand Korea. He gave instructions and demonstrated helicopters forgovernments around the world at the Paris Air Show, and also inSouth Korea, Indonesia and Kenya. He also flew security for the LosAngeles Olympics in 1984. He was a helicopter test pilot forHughes.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 32 years, Evea Williamsof Escondido; daughters Sharon Miller of Lake Forest and JudyStrachan of Canyon Lake; five grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, atEmmanuel Faith Community Church. Inurnment will be at Ft. RosecransNational Cemetery.

Betty Summerville, 85

RANCHO BERNARDO – Betty Jane Summerville, 85, died of renalfailure on Friday, March 16, 2007, at Villa Rancho Bernardo.

Born Feb. 9, 1922, in Fulton, N.Y., she lived in San DiegoCounty for 53 years. She worked for the Hershey Chocolate Factory,a sewing factory, did housecleaning and was a homemaker. Sheenjoyed her family and cooking.

Mrs. Summerville is survived by her husband of 55 years JosephC. Summerville; son Joseph C. Summerville Jr., of San Diego;daughter Kathy Hix of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and eightgreat-grandchildren.

James Frederick, 80

OCEANSIDE – James Taylor Frederick, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 21,2007.

Born May 19, 1926, in Lawrence, Kan., he lived in Oceanside for30 years. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company until hisretirement in 1989. He was an Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class inthe U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He attended St. Francisof Assisi Catholic Church.

Mr. Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, David H. andMartha A. Frederick. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, LoisI. Frederick of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Michael D. andSue A. Frederick of Phoenix, Ariz.; son Steven J. Frederick ofPhoenix; son and daughter-in-law Richard A. and Jessica Frederickof Murrieta; daughter and son-in-law Susan F. and Thomas Chopko ofScottsdale, Ariz.; daughter Catherine A. Barnette of San Diego;sister Martha Bradley of Des Moines, Wash., and eightgrandchildren.

A Mass was celebrated on Feb. 26 at St. Therese of CarmelCatholic Church. The Rev. Nicholas Dempsey presided. Interment willbe at 1 p.m. April 2 at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. Rev.Nicholas Dempsey will officiate.

Fred Williamson, 79

OCEANSIDE – Fred L. Williamson, 70, died Tuesday, March 20,2007.

Born Nov. 3, 1936, in Plymouth, N.H., he moved to Oceanside 62years ago when his father joined the U. S. Marine Corps to fight inWorld War II. He was tomato sales manager with Kawano Brothers,Inc., where he worked for 20 years. He then co-founded Andrew andWilliamson Fresh Produce in 1986. He was a leader in producing andselling fresh tomatoes and strawberries in Mexico and the U.S.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of 47 years, JudyWilliamson of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Fred and StephanieWilliamson of Carlsbad; son Mitch Will-iamson of San Diego;daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer and Joe Procacci of New Jersey,Suzie and Mark Avilez of Oceanside, Tricia and Jeff Parkan ofBillings, and Beck and Lou Hall of Fairfield; daughters SheriWilliamson and Margaret Crane of Davis; and 14 grandchildren.

A Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Carlsbad at11 a.m. March 23. A reception will follow at El Camino CountryClub.

SAN MARCOS – Loraine Evelyn Dolley, 94, died Wednesday, March21, 2007.

Born March 10, 1913, in Providence, R.I., she was a homemakerand a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in San Marcos.

Mrs. Dolley was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dolley,in 2003. She is survived by her daughter Corinne Helena of SanMarcos, three grandhildren and one great-grandchild.

There will be a rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. March 26 at St.Mark’s Catholic Church in San Marcos. A Mass will follow at 10 a.m.Father Charles Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at MissionSan Luis Rey Cemetery, Oceanside.

CARLSBAD – Orville Lee Helton, 77, died Friday, Feb. 2,2007.

Born July 20, 1929, in Wayne, Okla., he lived in Carlsbad for 20years. He was a retired carpenter. He served in Korea as a U. S.Army Sergeant. He was a Lifetime Gold Card member in LocalCarpenters Union and a member of the Del Mar Race Track.

Mr. Helton is survived by his sons Lee, David and Dale Helton;daughters Annette Mykkanen and Janet Helton; brother KennethHelton; sister Elda Mae Bundy; eight grandchildren and sixgreat-grandchildren.

A memorial serviced was held on Feb. 22 in Carlsbad. Inurnmentwas March 22 at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Spencer Anderson, 76

VISTA – Spencer C. Anderson, 76, died at home on Tuesday, March20, 2007.

Born April 26, 1930 in Richard City, Tenn., he lived in Vistafor 40 years. He was a Gunnery Sgt. in the U. S. Marine Corps andserved in Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1971 after 20 years ofservice. He was plant supervisor for Vista Unified School Districtfor 22 years.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Olive Andersonof Vista; sons Robert Anderson of San Diego and Steven Anderson ofLa Mesa; daughter Elizabeth Parker of Oceanside; brother JohnAnderson of Crossville, Tenn.; sisters Edith Kidd of San Bernardinoand Martha Stickelmaier of Oceanside; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. March 25 at VistaAssembly of God church.

James Turner, Jr. 32

RINCON – James Joseph “JJ” Turner, Jr., died Tuesday,March 20, 2007, at Palomar Medical Center.

Born March 27, 1974 in Nevada, he lived on the Rincon IndianReservation for 32 years. He held several jobs as a laborer. Heenjoyed hiking, going to the desert and surfing.

Mr. Turner is survived by his companion, Gina Coultress ofRincon; mother Unadel Turner of Tucson, Ariz.; father James Turner,Sr. of Rincon; and sisters Pam and Jennifer Turner of Gardnerville,Nev.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. March 23 at McLeodMortuary Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeralservice will be at 10 a.m. March 24 at St. Bartholomew Church onthe Rincon Reservation. George Arvizu will officiate. Intermentwill follow at the Rincon Reservation Cemetery.

Violet Taylor, 66

SAN MARCOS – Violet Jane Taylor, 66, died on Sunday, March 4,2007, from

complications of pancreatic cancer.

She was a longtime resident of Mich-igan, but she lived in SanMarcos for the past 25 years. She was an active member of TheBridge Community Church in San Marcos, where she ministered tochildren, the elderly and sick, and hosted small group Biblestudies with her husband in their home.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her eldest son, TylynTaylor of Dublin, who died at the age of 45, on May 29, 2005. Sheis survived by her husband, Jay Taylor of San Marcos; daughtersKimela Taylor of Mt. Dora, Fla. and Barbara Knight of Ann Arbor,Mich; son Mark Taylor of Lakeland, Fla.; and eight grandchildren,three sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held March 24, 2007, at the WoodlandPark Middle School Auditorium located at the corner of WoodlandParkway and Rock Springs Road.

Dixie Warwick, 64

SUN CITY – Dixie L. Warwick, 64, died of cancer Wednesday, Feb.14, 2007.

She was born June 12, 1942, in East St. Louis, Ill.

Mrs. Warwick is survived by her husband, Weston Warwick; sonsand daughters-in-law Jon Jr. and Emma Leese of Rancho Bernardo,Michael Leese and Jocelyn Chang of Cleveland, Patrick Leese of LosAngeles and Mark and Dorothy Leese of St. Petersburg, Fla.;stepdaughters Denise and Laurie; mother, June Norris of Escondido;brother, Gene C. Norris of Loxley, Ala.; and fivestep-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, atMission Hills United Church of Christ, 4070 Jackdaw St. in SanDiego, with the Rev. Elder Troy Perry officiating.

William ‘Bill’ L. Hardy, 59

William Lance Hardy, age 59, of Vista, Calif., died March 20,2007, at his home. He was born December 19, 1947, to Lance andMagdalena Hardy in Lynwood, Calif. Bill attended Lynwood HighSchool and enlisted in the Army at the age of 19. He served hiscountry during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Upon his return fromhis Tour of Duty in Vietnam, Bill decided to pursue a career inaccounting and attended Cal State Long Beach where he earned hisBachelor’s Degree in Business, specializing in Accounting. It wasat this time he met the love of his life, Debra Elaine Powell. Theywere married September 23, 1972. Upon relocating to Vista, Calif.,in 1972, Bill went to work for Diehl Evans and Company. In 1976Bill began his own accounting practice. He built his business fromthe ground up and was a successful businessman, in the City ofVista, for the next 30 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his father in 1956, his mother in2005, and his sister, Linda Smith, also in 2005. Bill is survivedby his wife, Debra, of 34 years, his three daughters andsons-in-law, Julianne R. and Douglas G. Fried, of Albuquerque,N.M., Susan E. and Staff Sergeant Stephen D. Ingles of St. Mary’s,Ga., and Krista M. and Jason R. Coley of Escondido, Calif.; fivegrandchildren, Lance and Ashley Fried, and Austin, Zachary andMadalynn Grayce Ingles.

Bill will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.He was a kind man who put everyone else’s needs before his own.Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts andprayers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007, from 4:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service will then be held on Saturday, March24, 2007, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, in Oceanside, Calif. at 1:00p.m.

Steven Pat Stanley

Steven Pat Stanley, 53, passed away on March 20, 2007, after a 2year valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Steven is survived by his wife, Kathi, of 27 years, his threechildren Courtney, Kyle and Kevin and his father Warren, all ofEncinitas. He is also survived by his brother Dennis of Oceanside,sister Wendy of Visalia, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws andnumerous friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Elsie andbrother, Jeff.

Born in Morriston, N.J., on December 30, 1953, Steven moved withhis family to La Jolla when he was 13 years old. He graduated fromLa Jolla High School in 1972 where he was voted Most Athletic byhis senior class. He lettered in football, wrestling and track. Heworked at Cabrillo Power Plant for the last 25 years.

Steven was an avid lifelong fan of the Padres and Chargers.

His memory will live on through his three children whom hecherished and adored. He will be greatly missed by them.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on March 25, 2007,at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 334 14th Street, Del Mar, CA.

TEMECULA — Robert Dodds, 86, died Friday, March 16, 2007, atRancho Springs Medical Center.

Born Sept. 11, 1920 in Aberdeen, S.D., he lived in Temecula for9 years. He served in the U.S. Army Railway service from 1943-1945.He worked for the railroad for 40 years. He enjoyed his family,reading, big band music, movies from the ’30s and ’40s and tellingjokes.

Mr. Dodds is proceeded in death by his wife of 51 years,Dorothey, and his son, Terrance Dodds.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Judy and Molly Dodds; son,Doyle and wife Lynette Dodds; son, John and wife Judy Dodds;grandchildren, Kelly and Dustin Dodds, Jacob, James and JenniferWhite, Kamei Dodds and companion Mike Willis; great-grandchildrenHarley Willis; niece, Denora Graves; and great-niece MistyGraves.

The service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, atRiverside National Cemetery in Riverside.

VALLEY CENTER – Ruth Hyer Armstrong, 85, died Monday, March 19,2007, at her home.

Born June 18, 1921, in Lewiston, Utah, she lived in ValleyCenter for 34 years. She was the founder and owner of Armstrong EggFarm. She graduated from Utah State University. She served aninternship at John Hopkins University.

She made 463 quilts and donated them to the Valley Center firevictims and new mothers in Mexico. She was a member of The Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Valley Center. She taughtSunday school, was a relief society president and a templeworker.

Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her husband, GeorgeArmstrong, in 2001; sons Jerry and Alan; and grandsons Anthony andJason.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rock andBarbara Armstrong of Scripps Ranch and Michael and Sue Armstrong;and Nancy Armstrong, all of Valley Center; daughters and son-in-lawSusan Logan and Melody Kraft-Lorentzen and her husband, Eric, allof Valley Center; 32 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and funeralservice at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at The Church of JesusChrist of Latter-day Saints on Fruitvale Road in Valley Center withBishop David Wilkinson officiating. Interment at Valley CenterCemetery is planned.

SUN CITY — Neva Louise Miller, 90, died Saturday, March 17,2007, in Sun City.

Born March 24, 1916, in El Paso, Texas, she was a high schoolgraduate. Neva was an accomplished seamstress and won numerousawards at the Farmers Fair for crocheting afghan blankets. She wasa member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and theMayflower Society.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her mother and father,Harry and Louise Mumford, and her husband, Sidney who died in2000.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Sydney Leavelle of SanGabriel; son, Richard Miller of Sun city; three grandchildren; sixgreat-grandchildren.

Burial will be at sea.

Daniel Sexton, 63

MURRIETA — Daniel Sexton, 63, of Murrieta died Wednesday, March7, 2007.

He was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Worthington, Minn.

Robert Tebelman, 44

VISTA – Robert James Tebelman, 44, died Thursday, March 15,2007.

He was born Aug. 4, 1962, in San Diego. He was a water qualityanalyst for the Vista Irrigation District. He receivedcertification in water technology for Palomar College. He attendedNorth Coast Church in Vista. He enjoyed sports, golfing and ridinghis motorcycle.

Mr. Tebelman is survived by his son, James Tebelman; daughtersPriscilla Tebelman and Gloria Tebelman; mother Olivia Wiley;grandmother Gertrude Estrada; sisters and brothers-in-law Oliviaand Ed Franco, Suzette and John Ford, Tabatha Walters, Gypsy Russ,Christina Wiley and Reita Wiley; and former wife Angie AnayaTebelman.

Adrian Edick, 68

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Adrian R. Edick died Monday, March 12,2007.

Born June 24, 1938, in Muskegon, Mich., he lived in BullheadCity, Ariz. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1971 and retired fromSan Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in 1993. He was a PastCommander and life member of Fred L. Kent VFW Post 7907, inPoway.

Mr. Edick was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred(Taylor) Edick.

He is survived by his second wife, Maneta of Bullhead City,Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law James and Johanna Edick of JerseyCity, NJ; daughters and son’s-in-law Tammie and Frank McGill ofWarner Springs, and Tania and Kevin Doran of Las Vegas; step-sonsand step-daughters-in-law Robert and Lisa Bencivenga of Escondido,and Dennis and Sheila Bencivenga of San Diego; step-daughter NadineBencivenga of Ashland, Ore.; sisters and brothers-in-law Luria andDennis Anderson of Fruitport, Mich., and Shelly and Dan Chambers ofHolland, Mich.; brothers and sister’s-in-law Al and Maureen Edickof Etowah, N.C., Arnie and Nancy Edick of Muskegon, Mich., andRoger and Judy Edick of Spring Lake, Mich; and sixgrandchildren.

He was cremated and his cremains will be interred at DearbornMemorial, at 11 a.m., March 27.
