Missouri River levels, flooding impacts for eastern Nebraska and western Iowa

SOME POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER. YEAH, ESPECIALLY TOMORROW WHEN WE HAVE POSSIBLY SOME STRONGER STORMS ROLL THROUGH. BUT IT LOOKS LIKE TONIGHT, PROBABLY SOME SHOWERS, SOME GARDEN VARIETY STORMS. AND THEN AS WE GET LATER INTO TONIGHT, INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, YOU COULD SEE A FEW STRONGER STORMS IN THERE, BUT I THINK IT’S LOOKING UNLIKELY AT THIS POINT. BUT TURNING TO THE FLOOD HEADLINES HERE, WE DO HAVE A FLOOD WARNING OUT THAT WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR FOR DAYS NOW ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER AND FOR THE OMAHA AREA THAT FLOOD WARNING GOES OUT UNTIL TUESDAY, JULY 2ND. THAT EVENING. SO WE’RE EXPECTING WATER TO KEEP TRICKLING DOWN THE MISSOURI RIVER AND CAUSING FLOODING CONCERNS. RIGHT NOW. BLAIR THE MISSOURI RIVER AT BLAIR IS THE MAIN CONCERN FOR US. AND THEN IT CONTINUES DOWN TO OMAHA AND THEN IN PLATTSMOUTH AND THEN NEBRASKA CITY AND ON DOWN THE LINE. BUT LOOKING AT LIVE DUAL PULSE SUPER DOPPLER RADAR, A FEW SHOWERS GOING ON RIGHT NOW, SHOWER TOWARDS DENISON, SOUTHWEST OF THERE. BEATRICE SEEING A FEW SHOWERS THAT ARE PUSHING EAST. THE OMAHA METRO PROBABLY LOOKING PRETTY DRY RIGHT NOW. MAYBE A FEW SPRINKLES IN THERE. THERE’S A LOOK AT THE RIVER. WOW, LOOK HOW HIGH THAT’S RISEN. A BIT BREEZY OUT AS WELL. SO I MEAN, THIS IS WHAT WE’RE MONITORING OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. JUST THE RIVER LEVELS. AND WHEN WE CAN SEE THOSE FLOODING CONCERNS 76 DEGREES OUTSIDE THE WIND OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST AT 11MPH, A BIT MUGGY AS WELL. 60S DEW POINTS, TEMPERATURE SITTING IN THE 70S RIGHT NOW FOR MOST OF US. SO STILL COMFORTABLE AS YOU STEP OUTSIDE AND YOU KNOW THE CLOUDS HELPING US OUT A LITTLE BIT AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY, BUT WE DO HAVE A FEW SHOWER CONCERNS AND MAYBE EVEN SOME STORMS AS WE GET TO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SO AROUND FOUR, SIX, SEVEN, 8:00 TONIGHT COULD SEE SOME SHOWERS AND THEN MAYBE SOME STORMS RAMP UP A LITTLE BIT DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, BUT NOT ALL TOO CONCERNED WITH ANY SEVERE STORMS TONIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT’S POSSIBLE, BUT THE LIKELIHOOD IS FAIRLY LOW TOMORROW MORNING. STARTING OFF RIGHT NEAR THE 70 DEGREE MARK, A FEW THUNDERSHOWERS COULD STILL BE IN THERE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. THERE’S GOING TO BE ANOTHER CHANCE OF SOME STORMS COMING THROUGH A HIGH TEMPERATURE NEAR THAT 88 DEGREE MARK, AND A SOUTHEAST BREEZE AT 15 TO 25MPH. SO WE’RE GOING TO GO THROUGH STORM PREDICTOR FOR BOTH TODAY AND TOMORROW. AND WE DO HAVE A FEW SHOWERS THERE IN THE FORECAST TODAY AROUND 3:00. I THINK THAT WILL BE OUR BETTER CHANCE TO SEE SOME SHOWERS IN THE OMAHA METRO. BUT AFTER 6:00 WE MAY DRY OUT A LITTLE BIT UNTIL THIS NEXT STORM COMES IN. THIS IS FRIDAY AROUND MIDNIGHT AGAIN. IT LOOKS LIKE STRONGER STORMS STAYING DOWN TO OUR SOUTHWEST. THEY COULD BE SEE MAYBE A COUPLE RUMBLES OF THUNDER THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND THEN STAYING DRY UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING. A FEW SHOWERS MAKING THEIR WAY IN AND THIS IS THAT COLD FRONT WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THAT WE COULD SEE SOME STRONGER STORMS ALONG. IT. SO IF THESE SHOWERS KIND OF PERSIST THROUGH THE MORNING, THAT COULD INHIBIT SOME OF OUR, UM, CONVECTIVE TEMPERATURE TO GET REALLY WARM IN HERE. AND GET SOME STRONGER STORMS. SO THAT’S KIND OF WHAT WE’RE WATCHING FOR FOR FRIDAY. WHEN DO THOSE SHOWERS POP UP AND WHEN COULD WE SEE SOME STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS BASED OFF OF WHEN WE SEE THOSE SHOWERS POP UP? BUT THURSDAY NIGHT, THIS BEING TONIGHT, OUR RISK MOSTLY WEST OF THE VIEWING AREA. AND THEN THE RISK REALLY MAKING ITS WAY INTO THE OMAHA METRO ON THE MAJORITY OF THE VIEWING AREA FRIDAY EVENING. THAT’S WHY WE’VE UPGRADED TO A SEVERE WEATHER DAY FOR TOMORROW ALONG THAT COLD FRONT, WHEN IT MAKES ITS WAY IN FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THE WEEKEND LOOKING REALLY NICE. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 80S, UPPER SECONDS. SUNNY. TERRIFIC WEATHER AND THEN OUR NEXT STORM CHANCE. NOT REALLY COMING UNTIL MONDAY. SO DEFINITELY MAKE SURE YOU STAY TUNED INTO THE FORECAST. WI
