Obituary for Lawrence Edward Binger
April 16, 1937 — July 21, 2024
Springfield
Lawrence Edward Binger passed peacefully from this life on July 21, 2024 at the age of 87.
Larry was born in Oakhurst, NJ, on April 16, 1937, to the late Lawrence A. and Cora Fliedner Binger.
From a young age, Larry had a passion for adventure and exploring which led to lifelong hobbies of motorcycle racing, deep sea diving, and travel.
His adventure began, at the age of 17, when he enlisted in the United States Navy.
Larry became a lineman for Jersey Central Power and Light shortly after leaving the Navy. He spent a few years in New Jersey before moving to Arizona to become a high voltage electrician. During his time in New Jersey, he met and married the love of his life, Penny Tweedie.
They were married for 43 years, until Penny’s passing in 2012.
His passion for travel and his electrical experience led him to a long career with the federal government. He began working for the Department of Defense as a foreman for the electrical shop. His first duty station was on the U.S. Naval Air Station in Bermuda from 1979 to 1987. After spending a brief time in Charleston, SC, he transferred to the U.S Department of State to become a Facilities Manager. Larry and Penny lived and worked in many wonderful places: Niamey, Niger, Africa; Tel Aviv, Israel; Washington D.C.; and Santiago, Chile.
After retiring in 2002, Larry and Penny moved to Sparta, TN to be near family and several childhood friends. In his retirement he enjoyed going out to eat, watching NASCAR, the NY Giants play football and working on his 1960’s model Chevy truck.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Penny, his sisters, Marilyn Measure and Lauren Binger and his brother Craig Binger.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Lara (Joe) Salsman, son Bill (Shirley) Kennedy, grandsons, Bobby and Chris Kennedy, Evan and Griffin Salsman, six great grand children, and two beloved nieces. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him.
In respect for Mr. Binger’s wishes, there will be no service. His family will never stop celebrating his life.

Obituary for Laurie Walton Crowder
Laurie Walton Crowder, age 77, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Walton; husband, Robert Boyce Crowder; and brothers, Judge Jim Walton and Ron Walton.
She is survived by her son, Frank Lansing Crowder and his wife Ashley; sister-in-law, Janice Walton; along with several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Ms. Laurie was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ West and served in the Luke Ladies group. She had a master’s degree in education and dedicated over 30 years to Murfreesboro City Schools. Though she retired from administration and human resources, her true passion was in special education. Laurie was the social butterfly of the family. She was outgoing, vibrant, crafty, and had the best humor. She also enjoyed her coffee quiet time in morning where she got to birdwatch with her beloved four-legged companion, Toby.
Visitation with the family was Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service was Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.

Obituary for Zenith Graves
Zenith Kathleen Adco*ck Graves, age 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning July 27, 2024, at The Arbors at Springfield Heights.
Graveside services will be conducted in Springfield Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. with her grandson, Ethan Slate, officiating. Keith Graves, Levi Fletcher, Ethan Slate, Joe Slate, Gino Minutelli, and Steve Bridges will serve as pallbearers, and Donald Graves and Steve Simmons will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mrs. Graves was born on August 31, 1940, in Ridgetop, to the late Clifford Phillip and Goldie Marie Morgan Adco*ck. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. Mrs. Graves enjoyed spending time with her family above anything else. She was an excellent cook and a great athlete, especially when playing softball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Haney and Ruby Bridges.
Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband of 61 years, James E. “Jim” Graves of Springfield, by her son: Keith (Michele) Graves of Springfield, by her daughter: Kathy (Joe) Slate of Springfield, and by her two grandchildren: Ethan Slate of Franklin, KY and Elizabeth (Levi) Fletcher of Springfield.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Caris Hospice and the Arbors at Springfield Heights for the care shown to Mrs. Graves.

Obituary for Ronnie Pulley
James Ronald “Ronnie” Pulley, 71, of Greenbrier, passed away on Sunday July 21, 2024, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
His remains were cremated and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Ronnie was born November 5, 1952, in Indiana, to the late James Albert and Margaret Bush Pulley. He was always a hard worker and could do anything he put his mind to doing. Ronnie primarily worked in construction and concrete, and he was of the Baptist faith. Ronnie loved kayaking, fishing, and he loved to write and sing songs. He always enjoyed his time playing with his grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Marcia Roberts Pulley, and by his sister: Mary Eden. Ronnie is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: James B. “Jamie” and Shelia Pulley of Cedar Hill, Jeff and Genea Pulley of Cedar Hill, by his brothers: Larry Pulley of White House, and Terry Pulley of Springfield, by his sisters: Janie Sprouse of Springfield, Betty Flamm of Cross Plains, Patsy Anderson of Cross Plains, and Carolyn Griffin of Smyrna, by his two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, by his lifelong friend: Teresa Tharpe of Springfield, and by the one that outranked everyone else, his dog, Scooter.

Obituary for Martha Elizabeth Rust
Martha Elizabeth Rust, 45, of Decatur, GA, and formerly of Adams, TN, passed from this life on Saturday July 20, 2024, at her home in Decatur.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at Decatur City Church, 1995 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033, on Saturday August 10th at 10:00 a.m. (EST). There will be a graveside Celebration of Life service on Saturday August 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Adams Cemetery, in Adams, TN, with Reverend Paul Edwards and Reverend Ken Gillespie officiating.
Martha was born August 28, 1978, in Nashville. She was a graduate of Jo Byrns High School Class of 1996, and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan University and her master’s degree from University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was the director for the State of Georgia Tools for Life at the Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation at Georgia Tech University. Martha presented at numerous international, national, regional, and state conferences for assistive technology and served on several disability related committees. One of the highlights of Martha’s life was being a travel referee for the USWRA (United States Wheelchair Rugby Association) in both the United States and overseas. Martha loved to travel and to see the many sights that the world had to offer. She had friends worldwide and was an “honorary aunt” to many that she met along life’s way. Martha was a member of Decatur City Church in Decatur, GA, and she touched the lives of so many people in the 45 years that God allowed her to walk this earth. She was always an independent and adventurous spirit.
Martha was preceded in death by her father: Charles Benjamin Rust. She is survived by her mother: Martha Belk Rust of Adams, by her sisters and brother-in-law: Sarah and Jeremy Cecil of Clarksville, and Nancy Gay Rust of Adams, by her nieces: Charlee and Katherine Cecil of Clarksville, and by her cat Penelope, or better known to Martha as “Miss. P”.

Obituary for LeAnne Dorris
LeAnne Langford Dorris, age 57 of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her home after her battle with cancer.
Her wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
LeAnne was born April 18, 1967 in Springfield. She was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper for Cirrus Tractor in White House, Veterans Motorplex, and her husband and son’s business, but her greatest role was as a wife and mother. She enjoyed animals, decorating especially for the holidays, and cooking for and entertaining her family.
Surviving her are her husband, Mike Dorris of Springfield; son, Nicholas Dorris of Springfield; daughter, Rebecca Dorris of Knoxville; parents, Don and Glenda Langford of Springfield; and sister and brother-in-law, Lynette and Royce Crain of Springfield.

Obituary for Sherry Corlew
Sherry Addison Corlew, born May 17, 1957, passed away on July 15, 2024. Sherry was born and raised in Robertson County, Tennessee. Sherry spent her childhood in Greenbrier where she was a 1975 graduate of Greenbrier High School. She attended Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee where she was a majorette and member of Chi Omega women’s fraternity. She moved back to Robertson County where she met the love of her life, William “Buddy” Corlew. They married on November 10, 1978, and had two children, Courtney Lynne, and Christopher Jack. She worked for both Greenbrier City Hall and Robertson County General Sessions Court until retirement. She was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church.
Sherry loved her family and friends intensely. She was a voracious reader, an avid walker, and genuinely loved to have fun, whether chaperoning her children’s show choir trips or on vacations to the beach. She is preceded in death by her father, John L. Addison; mother, Betty Addison Cunningham; brother and sister-in-law, John Randall, and Debbie Cole Addison; brother, Ricky Dale Addison; stepfather, John Bell Cunningham; mother and father-in-law, Ella Mai and Gaither Jack Corlew; and son-in-law, Aaron Wade Smith.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Buddy and her two children, Courtney and Chris: aunts, uncles, step-siblings, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Springfield First United Methodist Church on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 12:00 Noon in the main sanctuary. Receiving of friends and family will begin at 11:00 A.M. and again following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherry’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Springfield First United Methodist Church.

Linda Faye Biggs, 58, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 21, 2024. She was born October 25, 1965, in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is survived by two sons that she loved dearly, Jimmy Biggs and Patrick Biggs. She also leaves behind several of her son’s friends who looked up to her as a mother. She was everyone’s mom.
She’ll be remembered for her love for her boys, as well as her love for butterflies and hummingbirds.

Ms. Woolbright was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Kaylor; her father, Frank Baldwin Hooper; and her step-father, William Bryan.
She is survived by her mother, Lettie Bryan; grandson, Darean Parrish; 2 great grandchildren, Lilly Parrish, and Gideon Redwine; step-brothers, Raymond Eugene “Ray” Bryan, William Edward “Eddie” Bryan, and Troy Wayne Bryan; and a step-sister, Teresa Bryan.

He was a self-proclaimed chef, an author, producer and all-around artist and entrepreneur.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Joseph Jordan. He is survived by his mother, Sue Stapleton Jordan; daughters, Sunny Jo Jordan and Lily Scott Jordan; mother of his children, Emily Kershaw; young man he loved like a son, Ellis Kane Kershaw, all of White House, TN; brothers, Christopher Lee (Rachel) Jordan, Murfreesboro, TN and Stephen Michael (Whitney) Jordan, Louisville, KY; nephews, Sutton John Jordan and Jackson Lee Jordan; nieces, Adele Gray Jordan and Margaux Sue Jordan.

Obituary for Ronda Lee Lowe
Ronda Lee Lowe, age 66, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Although healing didn’t come on this side of heaven, we all rest a little easier knowing she’s with Jesus and no longer in pain.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, August 10th, at 2 P.M in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, TN with Bro. Don Herron officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. until the time of the service at 2 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Ronda was born on August 31, 1957, in Ypsilanti, MI, to the late Charles Edward Lee Murdock, Sr., and Rose Irene Dalton. She was the owner of a beauty salon and a nail technician for over 50 years. Ronda’s life was marked by her love and dedication to her family and friends. She enjoyed scenic rides with her husband, a love for all flowers, and relaxing by her pool while listening to country music. She cherished time spent with her loved ones especially during the holidays. Holidays were very special to Ronda while loving the lord, she made sure that there was plenty of love for everyone. Ronda and David are members of Cornerstone Church in Madison, TN. A special thank you to Don & Pattie Herron.
In addition to her parents, Ronda was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Murdock; grandmothers, Susie Sears and Mattie Vertz; her uncle, Edward “Bud” Williams; aunts, Betty Sears; and Earlene Howard.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Lowe; daughter, Shannon (Wayne) Schoenheit; son, Shawn Murdock; step children, Randall (Heather) Lowe, Amanda (Chuck) Hargis, Sabrina (Josh) Hensley; four grandchildren, Allie (Zach) Wilhite, Hallie Weatherholt, Skyler Murdock, and Jackson Schoenheit; four step grandchildren Camden Hargis, Jaksen Hargis, Landon Hensley, and Gracie Hensley; one great grandchild, Zander Wilhite; brothers, Charles “Tony” Murdock, Craig (Melissa) Murdock, and Randy (Mona) Murdock. She is also survived by one aunt, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Mrs. Felts was born on October 30, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Haywood & Ethel Martin Binkley. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and mowing her yard. She loved everyone she knew and especially loved her family. Mrs. Ruth was a longtime, faithful member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church where she taught many Sunday School classes and served as secretary for the Women Active for Christ group.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Felts; brothers, Thomas, Donald, Paul, Ray, Jerry, John, and David Binkley; and son-in-law, Mike England.
She is survived by her son, Kendall (Sandie) Felts; daughter, Gayle England; grandchildren, Russ England, Mark England, Autumn Felts (fiance´ Fletcher Thompson), and Kaitlynn Felts; and sisters, Marie Wheeler, Janice (Rodney) Ford, and Yvonne Merritt.

Harry James Dorris, age 77 of White House passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville after a brief illness. He was born October 2, 1946 in Tipton, Indiana to Paul Everett and Anna Inez Morris Dorris. He was the owner and operator of Harry’s Towing Service for more than 12 years and was a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons. He prided himself in keeping a well -manicured lawn with beautiful flowers, as well as raising many delicious garden vegetables.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Turman. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Maria Dorris, White House, TN; daughters, Paula (Kip) Mayton, Bell Buckle, TN and Sheliah (Ricky) Parrish, Greenbrier, TN; sons, Michael (Dee) Dorris, Buchanan, TN, Kenny (Gretchen) Dorris, Bowling Green, KY, Jamie (Michelle) Dorris, Guthrie, KY and Scotty (Sonya) Dorris, Portland, TN; brothers, Larry (Faye) Dorris, Brunswick, GA, Richard (Teresa) Dorris and Garry (Lucy) Dorris, both of White House, TN; sister, Pam Dorris, White House, TN; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Richard Oliver Lamberth
Richard Oliver Lamberth, age 82 of Cottontown passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his home. He was born September 1, 1941 in White House, TN to Aubrey Eugene & Hazel Wilkinson Lamberth. He worked as a farmer, raising all kinds of crops including tobacco, wheat, hay and straw. He also raised beef cattle. Mr. Lamberth was an avid local racing fan and loved watching the races at Highland Rim Speedway. His favorite driver was Bruce Vaughn. He ate breakfast every morning at Johnson’s Crossroads and he also enjoyed going to auctions and to Dairy Queen with “the old teenagers”, Randy Zelisman, Karla Loos, Donnie and Diane Asher and Sue, Hellman and Jimmy Clinard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenda Faye Lamberth; sister, WIlkie Jean Sheppard; brothers, James Lamberth and Robert Lamberth. He is survived by his son, Ricky Lamberth; granddaughter, Allison Rose Lamberth; man he loved like a son, Randy Zelisman, Greenbrier, TN

Obituary for Charles Wayne Jones
Charles Wayne Jones, age 79, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at his home.
Graveside services were conducted at 11am Friday, July 26th in the Oakland Cemetery with Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Bryan Jones, Brandon Jones, Patrick Jones, Cole Jones, Jarrett Pentecost, and Kelby Chowning served as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeremy Slate, Joe Slate, Kevin Jones, and Joedy Hallman.
The family received friends from 4-8pm Thursday at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
Mr. Jones was born July 14, 1945, in Springfield, to the late Albert Lee Jones and Dorothy Ogg Jones. He was the Owner of Sho Express, the Transportation Manager at NASCO Manufacturing, and a member of North Springfield Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Carolyn Jones; brother, Bobby Lee Jones; sisters, Joyce Slate and Sue Hallman; and step-mother, Hazel Jones.
He is survived by his sons, Bryan (Shelley) Jones, and Brandon (Amy) Jones; 4 grandchildren, Paige, Patrick, Brooke and Cole; and 7 great grandchildren.

Obituary for Dan Cook
Daniel Waldo Cook “Dan”, age 74, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Saturday, July 27th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Wayne Bess officiating. Burial followed in the Cook Family Cemetery in Ashland City with Bart Anderson, Drew Barnes, Noah Cook, Broner McCoy, Bret Roberts, and Dan Hunnell served as pallbearers.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 26th from 5:00-8:00PM, and again on Saturday beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Dan Cook, born on June 11, 1950, in Gates, Tennessee, to the late Harold T. Cook and Lillian Richardson Cook, passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Dan cherished moments with his son, family, friends, and fellow veterans. He found joy in traveling, shooting, camping, riding Harley’s, and serving his community. A dedicated member of Ashland Lodge #604 F&AM alongside his son Noah. Dan held a special place in his heart for his Church Family at Ashland City Free Will Baptist.
Dan’s commitment to service was marked by over 20 years in the military, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as an assistant District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District and maintained a successful private law practice since 1991. Despite his accomplished careers, Dan often reflected that his most fulfilling times were spent as the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 987, a troop he founded.
Dan Cook will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, community, and family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in those around him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Felix “BR” Cook and Harold Richard “Rick” Cook.
He is survived by his son, Noah Cook (girlfriend, Olivia Buchanan); aunt, Patsy Langley and her children, Connie Langley Wood, Mary Langley and Frank Langley; niece, Katie Cook Brown; and a host of other loving family members.

Obituary for Theresa Widick Pinson
Theresa Widick Pinson, age 86 of Cottontown passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at NHC Sumner. She was born July 20, 1938 in Greenbrier, TN to Russell & Edna Crunk Widick. She was retired after 38 years of loyal service from Commerce Union Bank, which later became Bank of America. She attended Hendersonville First Baptist Church and was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Widick. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Pinson, Cottontown, TN; son, Steve Pinson, Cross Plains, TN; daughter, Sherry (Mark) Kolemba; granddaughter, Alli Kolemba, both of Gallatin, TN.
Graveside service is scheduled for Monday, July 29, 2024 at 2pm in Cross Plains Cemetery with Bro. Billy White officiating and with Steve Pinson, Mark Kolemba, David Pinson and Ryan Moran serving as pallbearers.

Obituary for Robert Dale Broadrick
Robert Dale Broadrick, age 16 went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 22, 2024. He was born January 28, 2008 in Springfield, TN to Tyler Dale Broadrick and Mary Frances “Fran” Norris. He was an upcoming junior at East Robertson High School and a cadet of Air Fore Junior ROTC. He loved to hunt and fish. Robert Dale was a great inspiration to many friends and family, was a hard worker, with a good work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him. He loved to joke around and have good clean fun and always greeted you with a hug and a smile. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, playing video games and air soft. His family and close friends were his whole world. He had a heart of gold and took pride in everything he did.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Norris. He is survived by his mother, Fran (Anthony) Givens, Portland, TN; father, Tyler (Carla) Broadrick, Springfield, TN; paternal grandparents, Dale (Cheryl) Broadrick, Greenbrier, TN; Pat DeLoach, Goodlettsville, TN; maternal grandmother, Judy Norris, Portland, TN; sister, Olivia Broadrick, Springfield, TN; half brother, Joseph Copeland, Franklin, KY; half sister, Alyssa (Branigan) Root, Clarksville, TN; step-brothers, Israel (Hailey) Campbell, Portland, TN and Spencer (Allison) Campbell, Castilian Springs, TN; step-sisters, Breanna Givens, White House, TN, Sky Givens, Hendersonville, TN, Hannah Campbell, Portland, TN and Hallie (Idris) Chargois, Fort Campbell, KY; several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Colton Robinson, Waylon Coleman, Wyatt Coleman and Jaylon Bass. Visitation was Friday, July 26, 2024 1pm-8pm and Saturday, July 27, 2024 10am until 2pm at The Church at Grace Park.

Obituary for Janice Binkley
Janice passed away on July 20, 2024, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville following a several months long illness.
She was born in Nashville on February 12, 1945, to Ms. Ruby Frost. She had a sister Sheryl Buck and brother Richard Leach. Growing up in Nashville she met and married the love of her life Harold “Buddy” Binkley and together they raised a son Eric and daughter Tammy always surrounded by extended family.
Janice pursued a career in Nursing after caring for her terminally ill mother in her final days. With her children mostly raised she attended Tennessee State University in Nashville and obtained her nursing degree graduating with honors at the top of her class. When not caring for others, she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and watching NASCAR with her beloved husband Buddy. She also enjoyed reunions with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved on them, as well as many “fur babies” over the years. She also was an “over the top” passionate fan of the Tennessee Titans.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Frost, her sister Sheryl Buck and most recently her best friend, love of her life, and constant companion, her husband of 60 years Buddy Binkley.
She is survived by a loving family including her son Eric (Vicki) Binkley, her daughter Tammy (Scott) Tubandt, grandchildren Ashley Binkley & Tyler (Morgan) Binkley, great grandsons Landon Binkley and Brewer Binkley, brother Ricky (Debbie) Leach, sister in laws, Barbara (Ricky Snipes) Thompson, Janie Edwards, Jodie Stewart, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its appreciation to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and all the caregivers on the 5th Floor CCU at Centennial Hospital.
